  • Nosy Komba – The Island of Lemurs: Upon your arrival, I will meet you right outside the harbor. A fast boat will take us to Nosy Komba Island, also known as the Lemur Island. This island, a former volcanic cone, now hosts various species of lemurs, including the rare black lemurs. During a two-hour hike through the village, you will have the opportunity to observe these fascinating creatures in their natural habitat and learn more about the local culture.
  • Snorkeling in Nosy Tanikely Marine Park: Next, we will head to Nosy Tanikely Marine Park, one of the best snorkeling destinations in the region. Here you can snorkel among vibrant coral reefs and a variety of tropical fish, as well as sea turtles. The clear visibility and abundant underwater life make this experience unforgettable.

Antsiranana (Diego Suarez) – Natural Wonders and Cultural Diversity

Antsiranana, located in the north of Madagascar, impresses with a mix of breathtaking nature and colonial architecture. The surrounding area offers numerous opportunities for nature and cultural experiences.

  • Montagne d’Ambre National Park – A Paradise for Hikers: After being greeted at the harbor, we will take a trip to Montagne d’Ambre National Park. Known for its stunning volcanic landscapes, this park is home to rich flora and fauna, including various species of lemurs, chameleons, and a wide range of birds. A highlight of the hike is the stump-tailed chameleon, which is known for its small size and ability to change color. The park also features a sacred lake and impressive waterfalls, perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature.
  • Red Tsingy and Ramena Beach – Geological Wonders and Beach Enjoyment: Alternatively, we will head to the Red Tsingy, a unique sandstone formation shaped by erosion into fascinating structures. Depending on the schedule, we can also pass by Montagne de Français and the Sugarloaf, and visit Ramena Beach, renowned for its scenic beauty.

Toamasina (Tamatave) – Insights into Madagascan Life

Toamasina, Madagascar’s second-largest city, is located on the east coast and is an important commercial hub. The city and its surroundings offer fascinating insights into local life and nature.

  • Ivoloina Zoo – Encounter with Madagascan Wildlife: After meeting at the harbor, we will visit the Ivoloina Zoo, which spans about 282 hectares and is home to a variety of animals, including several species of lemurs, reptiles such as snakes, chameleons, frogs, and turtles. The zoo also provides insight into the local flora and fauna, making it an ideal place to learn more about Madagascar’s wildlife.
  • Boat Tour on the Pangalane Canal – Traditional Life on the Water: Alternatively, we will take a boat tour in a traditional boat along the Pangalane Canal, a waterway about 645 kilometers long, running parallel to the Indian Ocean. Along the way, you will have the chance to observe fishermen at work and experience life in the fishing villages. The day ends with a city tour of Toamasina, where you can discover colonial architecture and the vibrant city life.
