Madagascar with time for your photography and filming
Rainforest, islands and baobabs through your lens
Red earth beneath your feet, a canopy overhead and later the sea in the evening light: a photography and video trip in Madagascar offers a wide range of subjects. Whether you are planning Reels, travel videos or a personal photo series, we shape the trip around your interests and the time you need for your images.
Our existing “From the North to the West” tour provides the starting point. We choose suitable stops and stays from that route. You travel at our standard rates. Drone filming can only be considered where the required authorisations and local permissions are in place.
From wide views to small details
Which images would you like to bring home?

Red earth and rocky landscapes
The Red Tsingy, Ankarana Reserve and Bemaraha are separate destinations along the underlying tour. We choose suitable visits and allow time for landscapes and details. Walks and photography stops need to suit the terrain and opening hours.

Island time and stories by the sea
Nosy Be and possible neighbouring islands offer a different pace: water, coastal scenery and small discoveries along the way. Boat outings are coordinated with weather and transfers. For underwater images, we discuss a suitable excursion separately.

Baobabs and wildlife watching
Around Morondava, the baobabs and Kirindy Forest are among the options on the existing route. For wildlife photography, we stay on permitted trails with local guides. We plan observation time without promising particular animals or lighting conditions.
An existing tour as a starting point
Your possible route from the north to the west
The overview below describes the stages of our existing tour without making new promises about a fixed number of days. Its 20-day version is the starting point. If you want more time with your subjects, we reduce the number of stops or extend the trip. Flights, road conditions, access and accommodation are checked together for your dates.
Arrival · Antananarivo
Discuss the journey and your preferred subjects
After arrival, there is time to settle in. We discuss priorities, equipment and the next connections. City photography may be possible if the schedule, location and local rules allow. As on the existing tour, the northern stage is planned around a confirmed domestic flight to Antsiranana.
North · Antsiranana and Montagne d’Ambre
Discover the coast and mountain forest
Around Antsiranana, we choose coastal visits and a suitable walk in Montagne d’Ambre. You can combine landscapes, forest scenes and small natural details. Excursions depend on weather, trails and the time available. Animals are observed rather than staged for photographs or filming.
North · Red Tsingy and Ankarana
Capture two different landscapes
The Red Tsingy and Ankarana Reserve are reached separately. We choose suitable trails with the local guide. Stops are planned for viewpoints and details; on demanding sections, the camera stays safely packed away. Extra filming equipment or special production requests must be declared in advance.
Island stop · Nosy Be
Make room for time by the sea
After the agreed transfer to Nosy Be, the focus is on coastal subjects and free time for images. Excursions to places such as Nosy Komba or Nosy Tanikely are chosen according to your interests. We treat them as separate activities with transfers. A day on a boat and a free beach day each need their own place in the itinerary.
Transition · Via Antananarivo to the west
Treat transfer days as travel days
The flight from Nosy Be back to Antananarivo and the road stages via Antsirabe towards Miandrivazo and Morondava follow the existing tour. We choose a few worthwhile stops along the way. A long transfer stage is not also filled with a complete day of filming.
West · Morondava, Bekopaka and Bemaraha
Allow enough time for the baobabs and Tsingy
Around Morondava and on the way to Bekopaka, we coordinate driving, crossings and nature visits. Bemaraha is a possible stop when the approach and walking circuits are accessible. Extra time near Morondava may allow another visit to the baobabs. Sunrise, sunset and exclusive locations are not guaranteed services.
Final stage · Kirindy and the return journey
Nature photography and a return with time to spare
A guided visit to Kirindy can complement the western stage. The underlying road route then returns to Antananarivo with overnight stops along the way. We allow a buffer for the return and your international flight. The order of individual visits is coordinated with the journey as a whole.
Choose this route as your starting point
Would you mainly like to combine the coast, Red Tsingy, island time and the baobabs in the west? We can assess the existing tour of the north and west with extra time for your images.
View the existing tour of the north and westRainforest and the south as an alternative
If the highlands, Ranomafana, Isalo and the coast near Toliara interest you more, we use the existing tour of the south and east as the starting point instead. The two routes are discussed as alternatives.

More time for images that tell your travel story
Images at the right time of day
We discuss which stops matter most to you. Where access, opening hours and safety allow, we take morning or evening light into account. Several nights in one place give you more flexibility. Particular lighting conditions still cannot be booked.
From the wide view to the detail
A wide landscape view, an unhurried shot and a small detail can tell more together than many quick stops. Tell me your focus: a travel vlog, Reels, nature photography or a photo story. We shape the itinerary around the way you work.
Time to back up and select your images
Free time for backups, batteries and breaks is part of the planning. We check electricity and usable internet access with the accommodation providers. Fast uploads at every stop cannot be promised. Bring enough of your own storage for the trip.
You photograph and film with your own equipment. A camera crew, photography coaching, editing or finished videos are only included if explicitly offered and agreed.
Prepare drone filming carefully
Drones in Madagascar: legal framework and permissions
Aerial images can complement your travel photography, but they are not automatically part of the programme. Before a flight, the location, dates, aircraft, pilot and purpose must be clarified with the responsible authorities. For this trip, we only plan drone operations after prior written ACM authorisation for the specific operation. Without the required permissions, the drone stays on the ground.
RAM 10000 as the current framework
According to Aviation Civile de Madagascar, RAM 10000 has applied since 8 February 2025. It is based on Decision No. 061/DGE/DRG/DRS/UAS of 8 February 2024, which replaces the earlier Decision No. 75b of 2015 and the instruction issued in 2017.
The framework covers registration, qualifications, operator requirements and authorisations, among other matters. ACM must confirm the current evidence required for your aircraft and planned images. Registration alone is not permission to fly; we do not treat an EU credential or low aircraft weight as blanket authorisation either.
Additional rules in protected areas
Protected Areas Law No. 2015-005, particularly Article 55, point 22, and Decree No. 2025-778 are also relevant. Articles 314 and 317 of the decree govern flights below 1,000 metres over protected areas: the prescribed approval procedure involving the ministry responsible for protected areas and an exceptional authorisation from the civil aviation authority are required.
The 1,000-metre threshold is not an authorised flying height. An admission ticket or a guide’s agreement does not replace the required authorisations.
How RAM 10000 distinguishes between planned operations
Private flights and commercial use
RAM 10000.C.005 describes an open category for low-risk private flights. Visual line of sight and, in principle, a maximum height of 120 metres above ground are among its conditions, alongside further requirements and geographical restrictions. This is not general permission to take off at travel destinations. For professional or profit-making operations, D.005 specifies the “certifiée” category; we clarify the appropriate authorisation process with ACM.
Insurance and night flights
Under K.005 and K.015, drone third-party liability insurance covering the operations in Madagascar is required. C.025 prohibits flights during aeronautical night in the open category without exceptional authorisation. A camera drone weighing under 250 grams is not automatically exempt from registration and other requirements; C.005 expressly mentions cameras.
Assess photography and film productions separately too
Articles 319–322 of Decree No. 2025-778 concern more elaborate photography or filming, or work outside authorised visitor routes. They provide for official approvals, an agreement and, where applicable, a filming permit from the ISSM film centre. The agreement also governs fees, the protected-area manager’s rights and your usage rights. Your specific project therefore needs to be assessed before booking.
Describe your project
Prepare the aircraft model, weight, serial number, pilot details, dates, exact locations and intended private or business use. For Reels, advertising or client work, state the intended use clearly.
Have the requirements confirmed
Clarify registration, qualifications, insurance, operational authorisation and any further approvals for the specific operation with ACM. Import and transport requirements are also checked before bringing the equipment.
Plan only for authorised locations
Check protected-area, property and filming permissions separately. Flight areas, times and conditions must all align. We do not list any travel destination as a generally unrestricted “drone spot”.
Research basis: 28 October 2026. Application requirements and authorisations must be confirmed in writing before your travel dates. For trips from 26 November 2026, also take account of the announced applicability date of ACM’s RAM 10700 on the command-and-control link. Contact address: acm@acm.mg.
Make your images work with the journey
Coordinate equipment, people and travel dates
Travel with manageable equipment
Equipment that is easy to carry helps on walks and boat transfers. Protection from rain, dust and spray, along with your own backups, is useful. Batteries, spare batteries and baggage are prepared according to the current rules of the airline actually booked.
Photograph and film people respectfully
We ask for consent before portraits and planned scenes. Particular care is needed around children, private property and culturally important places. Military and security-sensitive facilities are not photographed. Local prohibitions and fady also apply to content creation.
Consider routes and weather
The western stage in particular depends on accessible tracks and crossings. Travel dates are chosen for the whole route. We do not use unsafe locations or night drives to obtain images. In poor weather or without authorisation, permitted ground-level photography remains the alternative.
A paid trip centred on your interests
Clear terms for your photography and video trip
This trip is for photographers, videographers, content creators and anyone who wants to take more considered images while travelling. It is offered at our standard rates. There are no free trips, influencer discounts or collaborations in exchange for reach, posts or images.
Specified in your individual offer
The route, duration, accommodation, vehicles, tour guide, local guides, admission, flights and excursions are listed individually. Extra stays for photography and filming, and the organisation involved, need to fit the overall plan. The price depends on your dates and the services requested.
Extras or services to agree separately
Authorisation procedures, official and filming fees, special insurance, an authorised drone operator or production equipment are not automatically included. Assistance with these matters must be explicitly confirmed. A booking does not promise authorisations or particular results from your images.
Questions about the photography and video trip
Do I need to be an influencer to enquire about this trip?
No. The travel idea is for anyone who would like to take photos and videos with more time at each location. A public channel or a particular audience size is not required.
Is the itinerary fixed at exactly 20 days?
No. We use the existing tour of the north and west as a starting point. If you want more time for images, we extend the trip or choose fewer stops. A packed tour is not promised unchanged as a comprehensive photo or film production.
Can I simply fly a small drone weighing under 250 grams?
We do not treat small camera drones as automatically exempt from authorisation. Before use, ACM and any other responsible authorities must confirm the requirements for the aircraft, location and purpose. A weight threshold familiar from Europe does not replace this check.
Can I take aerial images in the national parks?
Only when every authorisation required for the specific overflight is in place and local conditions are followed. Planned park visits are therefore not promises of drone flights. Without authorisation, only permitted ground-level images are considered.
Will I receive edited videos or have a camera crew?
You initially travel with your own equipment and create your own images. A camera crew, drone operator, coaching or editing is included only by explicit agreement.
Is there a discount in exchange for posts or a collaboration?
No. The trip is paid for at our standard rates. Reach, posts and providing images do not replace payment or entitle you to an influencer discount.
Your journey starts with an idea
Which images would you like to create in Madagascar?
Tell me your travel dates, available duration, group size and main subjects. Please mention “Photography and Video Trip” and let me know whether you would like to bring a drone. We can then first clarify the right existing route and the preparation time your project needs.
